At The Lost and Found, we are constantly reminded that God can use even the smallest acts of creativity and kindness to build meaningful connections between people who may never meet this side of heaven.
Over the past several months, the women participating in our Arts & Crafts ministry at Lowell Correctional Institution have been creating beautiful diamond art paintings. Each piece represents hours of patience, dedication, and hard work. More importantly, each piece represents a woman loved by God, created in His image, and worthy of hope and encouragement.
Recently, our team had the privilege of taking many of these completed works, professionally framing them, and displaying them at a senior adult luncheon hosted by The Church of Eleven22.
Rather than simply giving away artwork, we invited attendees to adopt a painting. Each framed piece had the name of the woman who created it written on the back. When someone selected a painting, they also committed to praying for the inmate artist who had created it.
What began as an arts and crafts project became something much deeper—a bridge between two groups of people who might never otherwise cross paths.
For the women at Lowell, their artwork became a testimony that their efforts matter and that people outside the prison walls care about them. For the seniors, the paintings became daily reminders to pray for a specific woman by name and to participate in God’s work of restoration and redemption.
This is exactly the kind of ministry we love to see happen: people using their gifts to serve others, relationships being formed through prayer, and the body of Christ coming together across barriers that the world often sees as impossible to overcome.
As Scripture reminds us:
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (ESV)
Please join us in praying for these women. Pray that they would experience the love of Christ, grow in their faith, and walk in the hope and freedom that can only be found in Him.
Together, one painting at a time, God is creating connections that point people back to Jesus.
