There are moments in ministry when you get a glimpse of what God has been doing behind the scenes for years. The recent Women’s Encounter hosted by The Church of Eleven22 at Lowell Correctional Institution was one of those moments.
For many years, volunteers from The Lost and Found and The Church of Eleven22 have faithfully walked through the gates of Lowell to build relationships with the women there. Week after week, month after month, we have shared meals, worshiped together, prayed together, created art together, and most importantly, pointed one another to Jesus.
This Women’s Encounter was a beautiful reminder that God is always at work, even when we cannot see the full picture.
Throughout the event, the presence of God was evident. The room was filled with heartfelt worship, powerful messages, honest conversations, and countless moments of prayer. Women who had been carrying burdens for years experienced freedom, encouragement, and hope through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
One of the greatest joys was seeing the fruit of relationships that have been cultivated over time. Many of the women participating were not strangers to our volunteers. They were friends, sisters in Christ, and women whose stories we have had the privilege of witnessing over the years. Seeing them worship freely, engage deeply with Scripture, and take steps of faith was an incredible testimony to God’s faithfulness.
Perhaps the most powerful moments came as women publicly declared their faith through baptism. Watching lives surrendered to Christ and celebrating alongside women who have chosen to follow Him is something we will never forget.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
The Women’s Encounter was not the result of a single weekend. It was the culmination of years of faithful service by volunteers, prison staff, ministry partners, and the women themselves who have continued to seek the Lord in difficult circumstances.
We are deeply grateful to The Church of Eleven22, the leadership and staff at Lowell Correctional Institution, and every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and prayers to make this event possible.
Most of all, we thank God for allowing us to witness His transforming power. The same Gospel that changes lives outside prison walls is changing lives inside them as well.
As we reflect on this incredible weekend, we are reminded that ministry is often about faithfully planting seeds and trusting God with the harvest. This Encounter gave us the privilege of seeing some of that harvest firsthand.
Please continue praying for the women of Lowell. Pray that the seeds planted during this Encounter will continue to grow, that these women will be strengthened in their faith, and that they will become powerful witnesses of God’s grace wherever He leads them.

The work continues, and we are excited to see what God will do next. Through every relationship, every prayer, every act of service, and every step of faith, He continues to remind us that no one is beyond the reach of His love and redemption.
